Campbell Station Road Project

Would the FBMA please justify their extension of Campbell Station road?
  1. Why create a "cut-through" that by-passes a significant portion of our businesses?
  2. Why does it need to be 5-lanes?
  3. Are there plans to expand the section of CSR between Kingston Pike and Grigsby Chapel?
  4. If so, then why increase the danger to our Primary School Children, Library and Park patrons as well as our High School Students (the back entrance to Farragut High is on CSR).
  5. If not, how are you going to control the speed and safety on this section of road as drivers already do things to "cut-in" when it goes from 5-lane to 3-lane (including speeding way over the limit)?
And don't respond that the planner said it would be fine to build it here. The people I've talked with (that have some common sense) agree that you're either going to have many more near misses and some nasty accidents involving children or their parents. I know that CSR is an exit off the interstate, but it's primarily to be used to access our neighborhoods and businesses, not to cut through our town. If you wanted to create a "raceway", then build an oval or a dragstip and let them race on it, but not through my neighborhood, o.k.

For those of you who don't believe me, just head over to the Knox County Library in Farragut and just sit in the parking lot for 20-30 minutes during rush hour or before/after school and watch. If you're not convinced, comment and say why.
